Two Louisiana firefighters saved a woman who was trapped in a car that was caught in fast-moving floodwaters Thursday.
The rescue in Baton Rouge was captured on video by WBRZ-TV as severe storms caused heavy flooding throughout the city. In the video, the firefighters are seen swimming out to the car, which is rapidly drifting away.
Once they reach the car, one of the firefighters begins pounding on the door and window to get to the woman. Finally, the firefighters appear to break a window and open a door in order to pull out the woman and swim away.
It was not known if the woman or the firefighters were injured during the rescue. Thursday's flooding in Baton Rouge killed at least one person who was pulled from a submerged truck but later died at the hospital, The New Orleans Advocate reports.
